I am currently an Advanced Study Program Postdoctoral Fellow at the NSF National Center for Atmospheric Research, where my mentor is Allison Baker.
I received my PhD in computer science from the University of Colorado - Boulder, where I was advised by Rebecca Morrison. I received my undergraduate degree in physics from Colorado College, where I was a Boettcher Scholar and advised by Shane Burns.
My research primarily concerns calibration, verification and uncertainty quantification of expensive, chaotic computer models like those used for weather and climate prediction. Often this work involves the use of ensembles and characterization of model output distributions. Broadly, I am interested in how we combine knowledge in the form of physical laws or domain expertise with observations to make reliable and practical computer models.
Outside of research, I am passionate about service in the scientific community and participate in mentoring and service programs from the high school to graduate level.
